Definition (Spanish):—

Comments:The term 'proffer', in most legal environments, would be equivalent to 'present' or 'file' or, sometimes, 'argue'; it's the offering of an argument or a piece of evidence in court. However, in Immigration Court, it can have a specific meaning: to orally summarize, or agree to summarize, the main points of what a witness would testify to in place of a written affidavit, so as to avoid having to put the witness on the stand and have them testify. This is often done with minor children, or experts when testimony has gone on too long and there's not enough time left.
